BACOLOD City – Two farmers were wounded after a former barangay kagawad opened fire at them in Sitio Cabigwan, Barangay Balicotoc, Ilog, Negros Occidental at around 12:10 a.m. yesterday.
The 28-year-old Rogelio Albofera sustained a gunshot wound on the left arm while Marjun Gestupa, 26, two gunshot wounds on the stomach and left arm, a police report showed.
They were rushed to the Lorenzo D. Zayco Memorial District Hospital in Kabankalan City.
Chief Inspector Nerlito Lobrido, Ilog municipal police chief, identified the suspect as Jimmy Condez.
Condez fled after the shooting, police said.
Lobrido said old grudge was the motive in the shooting.
Based on the investigation, Albofera and Gestupa were passing by Condez’ house on their way home when the suspect fired at them using a still unknown gun.
