MANILA – Green Archers United-Iloilo tallied its first win in the second leg of the PFF-Youth Football League U15 after a 6-1 victory over De La Salle-Zobel on Sunday at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City.
Karlo Lustan and Francis Botavara converted two goals each, while Charlie Carisma and James Tuazon chipped in one hits each to lead the way for the squad composed mostly of players from Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
GAU drew first blood in the 12th minute with Carisma converting a header just a meter away from the goal. La Salle-Zobel quickly retaliated three minutes later for a 1-1 count.
In the 34th minute GAU regained the advantage when Botavara executed a strong left foot shot, hitting the top left portion of the net. The lead grew 3-1 at the half when Lustan fired a strong left foot shot.
GAU continued to widen the advantage in the second half. Lustan scored from a deadball situation just six meters away from the center line of the pitch for a 4-1 count after a foul was committed.
In the 72nd minute GAU got another conversion from Tuazon from a groundball pass by JapJap Baito before Botavara added another hit with a strong left foot curling to seal the win.
GAU remains undefeated with eight wins and two draws for 26 points from its carryover standings from the first leg. The Iloilo team opened the second leg with a 2-2 draw with NCR on Aug. 21./PN
