GBP subsidiaries earn new ISO 2015 certifications

ILOILO City – Global Business Power (GBP) subsidiaries, Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC), Panay Power Corporation (PPC) and Global Business Power Holdings, Inc. (GBHPRI) have recently been certified to the new ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.

The ISO 9001:2015 specifies quality management system requirements that highlight consistency in providing products and services that meet regulatory requirements as well as promotion of customer satisfaction. The ISO 14001:2015, meanwhile, emphasizes enhancement of environmental performance, fulfilment of compliance obligations, and achievement of environmental objectives.

Certification Internal Philippines (CIP), Inc. approved the certification last August 2, 2018 along with the subsidiaries’ continued certification to OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

The IMS certification of GBP’s Panay subsidiaries highlight that their processes, products and services conform to the specified requirements, minimizes environmental impact and occupational risks, and promote total customer satisfaction.

“In GBP, we aim to go beyond compliance by meeting the highest quality management standards in our operations,” said First Vice President for Panay Operations Petronilo R. Madrid, adding that the ISO certifications highlight GBP’s core value of “passion for excellence.”

GBP operates 11 power generation facilities in Cebu, Iloilo, Aklan, and Mindoro. In 2017, the company acquired a 50% stake in Mindanao-based Alsons Thermal Energy Corporation./PN
