BACOLOD City – Gawad Kalinga (GK) Sinigayan Village in Sagay City, Negros Occidental received a fully-equipped health center from a multinational pharmaceutical company.
Called the “GSK Orange Health Center”, the facility aims to help boost the health status of the community.
Aside from the health center facility, Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK Philippines) also donated admission tables and chairs, beds for delivery, medicine cabinets with medicines and medical paraphernalia, wash basin, nebulizer, blood pressure monitors and blood sugar test kits, among others.
GK Sinigayan Village, a small community in Barangay Old Sagay with 106 families, will also benefit from the GSK Foundation Health program.
“GSK is humbled and inspired by the resiliency, strength and courage of Filipino bayanihan spirit,” said GSK Philippines general manager Lyn Baxter.
The health center is the company’s way of helping in the continuing recovery effort for survivors of super typhoon “Yolanda” and in the delivery of basic health services to the community.
Sagay City’s Mayor Alfredo Marañon III hailed the fully-equipped health center. He said it will greatly benefit the GK Sinigayan Village residents. (PIA-Negros Occidental/PN)
