BACOLOD City – A 62-year-old man accused of rape with homicide was arrested in Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental around 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Joel Batusbatusan, chief of the Cadiz City Police Station, they initially received information on Monday, Jan. 8, that the suspect identified as Federico Delfin fled to Kabankalan City from Cadiz City.
Batusbatusan said the victim was the 17-year-old step-daughter of the suspect’s son.
The girl was found dead at a sugarcane field in a barangay in Cadiz City around 5:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
Police said one of her fingers was cut and her neck was slashed.
As of this writing, the suspect was detained at the Cadiz City Police Station./PN
