ILOILO – Security personnel on duty when the capitol cooperative was robbed were facing disciplinary action.
Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. has ordered an investigation into the burglary.
A security camera was installed in the area where the culprits gained entry.
The guards were supposed to monitor the video feed, Defensor said.
“They should do their jobs,” he stressed. “Ginbakal ang CCTV (closed-circuit television camera) para tan-awon. Kon wala may nagatan-aw, useless ina.”
General Services Office head Aron Raymundo has submitted an incident report to Provincial Legal Officer Dennis Ventilacion.
Raymundo said the culprits took a desktop computer set with AVR (automatic voltage regulator) worth P16,000; P2,313.20 cash; and a pair of shoes.
Including the repair of the destroyed cash registry worth P5,000, the total damage was P27,613.20.
Police already have suspects but were still investigating, Raymundo said.
Based on the security camera footage, four people went inside the capitol while two others served as lookouts.
One of them was a worker at the ongoing rehabilitation of the old provincial jail nearby, said Raymundo./PN
