BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay 16 in this capital city was arrested in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
The 58-year-old Nelson “Junior” Aguirre, detained at the Sagay City police station lockup cell, was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Aguirre – who was also responsible for the circulation of fake money in Sagay and Cadiz cities – was caught in an entrapment operation that the Sagay City police staged around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Aside from a .38-caliber gun loaded with four live bullets, Aguirre also yielded six P1,000 bills, eight P500 bills, and five P200 bills, all of which the police said were fake.
Charges in relation to the fake money distribution will also be filed against Aguirre, police added./PN
