BACOLOD City – Police seized firearms and ammunition in a house on Menchaca Street, Barangay Look, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Businessman Malvin Omega Rabaya, 47, was arrested and detained. Found in his house were a hand grenade, a .45 pistol with two magazines and 204 live bullets, a loaded .38 firearm, and a clutch bag.

Joint operatives of the Regional Special Operation Task Group 18 and the Calatrava police station staged the raid around 10 a.m. on Wednesday on the strength of two search warrants.

The warrants — one for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and another for alleged violation of the Anti-Explosives Law — both dated March 7, were issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 58 Executive Judge Amy Alabado Arellano./PN
