BACOLOD City – Rescuers found a missing habal-habal driver dead around 11:30 a.m. yesterday in a river in Sitio Lubi, Barangay Tadlong, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Police, Army and Sagay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personnel discovered the body of the 33-year-old Ronnie Soberano at Iglamgam River after he went missing around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police investigation showed that Soberano was cleaning his motorcycle near the river when he slipped and fell.
The river’s strong current carried Soberano to where he was found – 30 meters way from where he fell – police said.
A few months ago, a teacher and another habal-habal driver drowned in the same river./PN
