BACOLOD City – Two brothers were hacked in Barangay Maricalum, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Monday’s incident sent Rey Parreñas, 35, and younger brother Mark Anthony, 27, to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city.
The brothers, residents of the said village, sustained hack wounds on the head and body, police said.
The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Bonnen Garcia.
According to police investigators, the Parreñases were having a drinking spree when Garcia challenged Rey to a fist fight.
The suspect, allegedly inebriated, attacked the older Parreñas with a bolo around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.
Mark Anthony tried to help his brother but he also got hacked on the head.
Officers of the Sipalay City police station conducted a manhunt operation against Garcia, who fled after the incident./PN
