ILOILO City – Operatives of the Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit seized around P2,108,000 worth of suspected shabu from a high-value suspect during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo on December 9.
The 43-yead-old suspect identified as alias “Amboy”/ “Kejie”, single, unemployed, and a resident of Pototan, Iloilo but temporarily residing in Pavia, was arrested at around 9:58 a.m. after he sold suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.
Police recovered a total of 10 plastic sachets of the said illegal substance weighing approximately 310 grams, P15,000 in buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.
The suspect is presently under the custody of Pavia MPS. He will be charged for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). These offenses carry a penalty of life imprisonment to death and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10 million./PN
