BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay Calapi, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental faces charges for violation of cockfighting law following his arrest.
Personnel of the Second Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company chanced upon 58-year-old Jerry Gestat engaging in illegal cockfighting around 11 a.m. on Sept. 13.
Police said that they were conducting an operation against illegal gambling when they caught Gestat.
Recovered were four game fowls and two gaffs.
The suspect was detained and charged in Hinigaran municipal police station./PN
