BACOLOD City – Due to budgetary constraints, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) here can only hire for the city government 10 contact tracers for coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19).
According to DILG city director Ma. Maredith Joy Madayag, the city government must hire its own contact tracers.
Last year, DILG-Bacolod City hired more than a hundred contact tracers. Not this time, according to Madayag.
“Ini bangud nga gin-slash ang DILG budget para sa contact tracers,” Madayag said.
The 10 contact tracers DILG-Bacolod is hiring this year will work from March to August. They will be deployed to the Emergency Operations Center.
