ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is warning the public against street harassment.
“Ang mga workers naton nga pang gab-i please be careful,” said Police Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, city police director. “As much as possible bantay kamo salakayan sa lugar nga madamo tawo. Ang mga criminals kon kakita opportunity mahimo gid ‘na sang krimen.”
On Sept. 5, a woman waiting for a ride was sexually harassed in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district by a motorist asking for directions.
The public should also be aware of motorcycle-riding thieves with the same modus operandi.
“They would usually ask for a place or establishment then grab your bag or cellular phone,” Garbanzos said.
ICPO personnel in civilian clothes were already deployed on the streets.
“Halong kamo basi ang mabikitima nyo pulis kag mapusasan kamo,” Garbanzos stressed.
Garbanzos said in their latest assessment, there was a decrease in crime volume here and the ICPO wanted to maintain this./PN
