BACOLOD City – Two persons were caught engaging in illegal cockfighting in Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified them as 38-year-old Roosevelt Diongson III and 58-year-old Joel Villaglor – all residents of the village.
Two game fowls and P350 bet money were recovered during the suspects’ apprehension around 11:50 a.m. on Aug. 8.
The suspects were detained in the custodial facility of the Escalante City police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./PN
