BACOLOD City – Four persons were arrested for cutting trees in Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
All residents of Barangay Taculing here, the suspects were Glenn Marino, 36; Rodel Pugoy, 26; Nolie Dinglasa, 34; and Diosmar Gador, 21.
Joint elements of the Don Salvador Benedicto police station and Community Environment and Natural Resources Office caught the suspects cutting Gmelina and mahogany trees around 12:20 p.m. on May 29.
The men failed to present a permit to cut trees, police said.
Recovered were lumber worth P40,000 and two chainsaws .
The suspects were brought to the police station./PN
