Ilongga found dead in California

ILOILO City – An Ilongga was found dead with a man in a house in Pacifica City, San Mateo County, California, USA on March 3. The local police suspected this to be a murder-suicide.

Family, relatives and friends of Ana Marie Alba, 39, are now making arrangements to have her body flown to Iloilo for burial. They have set up an online fund drive.

According to the Pacifica Police Department, “Preliminary investigation indicates this is likely a murder-suicide; however, this investigation is ongoing.”

In the online fund-raising site, Alba’s brother Joseph posted, “We are all still in shock and in disbelief, but our burden is a little bit easier to bear with your overwhelming generosity.”

Alba, a mother of two, had worked at a private company under contract with the US federal government providing passenger and baggage screening at the San Francisco International Airport.

The police identified the other dead person as 31-year-old Johny Tu, also a city resident.

Few details surrounding the deaths were being released, but local police said preliminary investigation indicated Alba and Tu died at the hands of one of them.

“With these funds we are planning her memorial services, a viewing and transportation back to Iloilo where she will be laid to rest. Any extra funds will be placed in a trust for her children,” brother Joseph further posted./PN
