BACOLOD City – IPM Construction and Development Corp. started collecting garbage under a new contract on Wednesday.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia has issued the IPM, which won the bidding for environmental and sanitary services, a Notice to Proceed, said Bids and Awards Committee acting chairman Maphilindo Polvora.
On Tuesday the Sangguniang Panlungsod granted Leonardia’s request for authority to sign the contract with the IPM. On the same day, the mayor signed the contract and the city council ratified it.
The IPM had served the city government as garbage collector under a previous extended contract that ended on Tuesday.
Under the new P149,696,384.53 deal, the IPM will be the garbage collection contractor until the end of the year./PN
