ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) arrested 147 individuals for illegal gambling in the first half of this year.
From January to June, the IPPO carried out 56 police operations which also resulted in a total confiscation of P64,697 in bet money.
Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, the officer-in-charge of the IPPO, said 59 cases were already filed in court.
The IPPO chief reiterated his call for the solidarity and support of the Ilonggos, stressing that their cooperation is crucial for the success of his planned initiatives aimed at enhancing safety and security in the province, particularly in the campaign against illegal drugs and illegal gambling./PN
