ILOILO City – A woman reported to the police that a man she owed money threatened to kill her and her children.

The 37-year-old Armida Ostaga of Aseco Subdivision, Barangay Camalig, Jaro district told the police she learned about the threat from her driver, Cirilo Mamon, at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Mamon told her Lucero Marcelo, 70, of Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro approached him and said he would kill Ostaga and her children if she fails to pay her debts, Ostaga said.

At around 12:30 p.m. that day, Ostaga said she received from Marcelo text messages with the same threat targeted at her son.

Marcelo cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.

The Jaro police station referred the case to the barangay lupon./PN
