Suspected thief nabbed in Bolilao

ILOILO City – Security guards at a construction site in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao district arrested a suspected thief.

Andres Delawis, 35, of Barangay Santa Cruz, Arevalo was detained at the Mandurriao police station.

KRJ Construction workers saw Delawis and an unidentified cohort loading iron bars from the site onto a tricycle at around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.

They called out the men but the latter ran away.

The guards followed the suspects and caught up with Delawis in Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz. The latter’s companion escaped.

The following items were seized from Delawis:

* 28 pieces of corrugated steel bar

* a 125 Haojue black motorcycle with blue sidecar

* a motorcycle key owned by Joy Ofianga of Barangay Santo Niño Sur, Arevalo

* a knife./PN
