Kadiwa market outlets eyed in 3 Iloilo towns

ILOILO City – The Department of Agriculture (DA) Western VIsayas in partnership with Iloilo Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ILECO) II will launch the “Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita” market outlets at ILECO II area offices in Pototan, Janiuay and Calinog, Iloilo on Feb. 3.

According to the DA, around 200 consumers and coop employees are targeted to benefit from this marketing strategy.

DA-supported farmers’ associations and exhibitors will sell chemical-free vegetables and fruits, spices, rootcrops, processed foods, different varieties of rice, native chicken, and duck eggs at lower prices.

DA-6 Regional Executive Director Remelyn Recoter and ILECO II General Manager Jose Redmond Eric Roquios have already signed the Memorandum of Agreement at the area office in Brgy. Cau-ayan, Pototan, Iloilo.

This marketing project of DA aims to provide local farmers with direct market linkage, and to make agri products more available and affordable to the consuming public.
