BACOLOD City – A barangay kagawad was shot dead by armed men in Barangay Cambayobo, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday night.
Benito Hubahib, 61, was a resident of the said place.
Calatrava police chief, Police Captain Jesus Alba, said three armed men introduced themselves as policemen, entered Hubahib’s house, and asked for the victim’s identification, while three others served as lookouts.
After the victim verified his identity, the suspects allegedly revealed they were only posing and shot Hibahib, added Alba.
Four empty .45 pistol bullet shells and three 5.56mm spent shells were found.
Alba said they were still trying to determine the motive behind Hubahib’s murder as well as the identity of the armed men./PN
