ILOILO – The No. 1 drug suspect in Kalibo, Aklan had been arrested.

Law enforcers caught the 48-year-old Ma. Luisa “Malou” Inocencio in a buy-bust operation in an apartment she was renting in Barangay Estancia, Kalibo.

Inocencio sold to an undercover officer a plastic pack of suspected shabu for P1,500 at around 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9.

Two more plastic packs of the same substance were recovered from her.

Inocencio, a native of Taguig City, was the top drug suspect in Kalibo, Chief Inspector Frensy Andrade confirmed to Panay News.

Police were able to identify her in 2016 and had since tracked her down.

They have gone to as far as Altavas, only to trace her back to Kalibo.

Operatives from Kalibo police station, Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group, Provincial Intelligence Bureau, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency staged the buy-bust.

Inocencio was detained in the lockup cell of the Kalibo police station.

The suspect will be charged with violation of sections 5 (sale of prohibited drugs) and 11 (possession of prohibited drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).

Andrade said they were set to file the charges at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Kalibo as of press time on Tuesday./PN
