KIRAY Celis had a lighthearted request for Vice Ganda, who will serve as one of the godfathers at her upcoming church wedding with longtime boyfriend Stephan Estopia.
During a brand event on Nov. 12 in Quezon City, Celis shared what she requested from Vice Ganda when she told him he would be one of the godparents at her upcoming wedding.
“‘Ma, hindi ka puwedeng mag-gown ha? Baka hindi kami ikasal ni Father,’” Celis said by way of a joke.
The actress explained that since they are having a Catholic ceremony, she just wanted to be sure everyone would follow church rules.
“Baka po bawal kasi. Just to make sure, kasi si Mama (Vice) nagsu-suit naman tapos half-gown sa ibaba,” she said in jest.
Aside from Vice Ganda, the other godparents include Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Sharon Cuneta, Eugene Domingo, Gabby Concepcion, Maricel Soriano, and Ai-ai delas Alas.
When asked about their honeymoon plans, Celis casually revealed that they will be spending it in Amanpulo, a luxury island resort in Palawan. She noted that the trip was sponsored by a specific individual.Celis also shared that she and Estopia have only allotted a budget of P500,000 for their wedding as most of the godparents will be covering different aspects of the celebration.
Celis and Estopia got engaged in 2023. They earlier faced backlash for their prenup shoot in Japan, where one of the photos showed the actress sitting on top of a street vending machine, which some netizens pointed out is not allowed in Japanese culture or is perceived as “disrespectful.”
Celis clarified that they received authorization from authorities to do the photoshoot and that there was no harm done in taking the said photo, as she emphasized that she is still sorry to those she might have offended. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
