Knights of Columbus officials assist a senior citizen in receiving her new wheelchair

ILOILO CITY – The first day of the 11th National Convention of the Knights of Columbus kicked off with a Wheelchair Distribution held in St. Anne Parish, Molo on May 10, 2018 at 8 a.m.

Engr. Rudante V. Dolar, Visayan Community Director described the event to be “symbolic” as 15 out of 290 wheelchairs were given to senior citizens and PWD’s. The rest will be given after the three-day convention.

Moreover, Engr. Dolar informed, “290 ang mga nag abot (nga wheelchair).  Ang mabilin diri sa Visayas is around 160. The rest will go to Luzon and the others sa Mindanao.”

The event included a small program held inside the parish in which British Columbia and Yukon State Deputy Koon Ming Lau gave a message.

The program included the blessing of the wheelchairs by St. Anne Parish Priest Msgr. Maurillo P. Silva, Jr. before they were officially distributed to the recipients.
