Richard Gutierrez’s reunion movie with Angel Locsin has been “put on hold.”

Gutierrez himself admitted this at the sidelines of his contract signing with ABS-CBN on Thursday where he inked a two-year exclusive deal with the network.

“I think we should ask someone from Star Cinema to answer [if it has been shelved]. But me, I am just looking forward to any project or movies na I’ll be doing with Star Cinema. But for now, I think it’s put on hold. I think pinapaganda lang ‘yung script,” he said.

One of the popular love teams of the mid-2000s, Locsin and Gutierrez topbilled six big-screen outings from 2004 to 2006. The Star Cinema movie, which would have also starred Angelica Panganiban, was supposed to be their first movie pairing in a decade.

They were last seen together in the fantasy series “La Luna Sangre.”

Nonetheless, the actor is looking forward to all the new projects ABS-CBN has lined up for him, especially now that he is officially part of Star Magic.

“My mom decided to collaborate with Star Magic. Obviously it is the premiere talent management in the country. I’ve always wanted to work with them. They were able to make stars. They know what they are doing. I trust them,” he said.

“My mom din kinda wants to slow down, retire na and enjoy life and enjoy her grandkids. Ayaw na niya masyado magpa-pressure in managing,” he added.

Meanwhile, Gutierrez shared that his wedding to his partner, actress Sarah Lahbati, has also been pushed back.

Medyo na-push back lang ‘yung wedding. Of course we are planning it. We are talking about it but now, lahat ng attention namin nasa baby and this opportunity to work with ABS-CBN. We will get to the wedding soon,” he said.

Gutierrez said he and Lahbati are busy looking after their newborn son and are enjoying every minute of it.

“He’s very healthy, very long baby. I think he’s gonna be taller than Zion. He’s a big baby. A few months only pa lang siya so maraming sleepless nights pero worth it yung pagod,” he said.

When asked how his five-year-old son Zion is adjusting to having a baby brother, he said: “We try to make Zion involved sa pagpapalaki kay Kai as much as possible. Nasanay si Zion na lahat ng attention nasa kanya and then may bagong baby. It’s still the adjustment period so tina-try pa din naming i-balance yun. But more than anything, masaya kami sa bahay.” (ABS-CBN News)
