BACOLOD City – A Korean man drowned in Manjuyod White SandBar in Barangay Campuyo, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, a police report showed.
Police identified him as the 65-year-old Kim Suk Chan, temporarily living in the residence of Hwang Hyean Jung in Barangay Masaplod Sur, Dauin, Negros Oriental.
Melisa Cadalin, a tourism staff, reported to the Manjuyod police station that Kim, one of their nine Korean guests, went missing around 12 p.m. on Nov. 23.
The Philippine Coast Guard, Manjuyod rescue team and some fishermen and banana boat operators searched for Kim.
Kim’s body was found floating in the sea around 1:30 p.m., police said.
He was brought to a cottage where a doctor tried to resuscitate him but failed.
Kim’s body was then brought to the Bais District Hospital where the attending physician said he was long dead./PN
