ILOILO City – A laborer was shot in front of his house on Saturday night in Barangay Lambayagan, Sibalom, Antique.
Leonardo Sangumay was taken to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital for two gunshot wounds.
Around 11:45 p.m., Sangumay heard bursts of gunfire outside his house so he went out to check what was going on.
The police identified a suspect – Amado Servidad of Barangay Igpayong, San Joaquin, Iloilo.
Servidad fled. As of this writing, his whereabouts were unknown.
In another incident in Sibalom, four persons were arrested on Saturday in Barangay District 1 for playing poker.
The following were detained at the Sibalom police station:
* Mark Oliver Mejares, 30, of Barangay Esperanza, Sibalom
* Primo Delgado, 40, of Barangay Alabangan, Sibalom
* Esmael Magno, 55, of Barangay Cubay Naputlan, Sibalom, and
* Ramon Sorongon, 59, of Barangay District 1.
They were caught at around 2:45 p.m. by Sibalom policemen.
Cops recovered play cards and P633 in various denominations./PN
