LIAN Paz appears elated after her daughters Xonia and Xalene reunited with their dad Paolo Contis, who had been estranged from them for years.
The former EB Babe expressed her delight by sharing a Bible verse on the comments section of the actor’s Instagram post about the reunion on Thursday, Aug. 7. Contis’ post was dedicated as a birthday greeting to Paz’s partner, John Cabahug.
“Romans 8:28: And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose,” her remark read.
Cabahug, for his part, thanked Contis whom he described as a “good man.”
“Pao, I appreciate your thoughtful birthday greeting. Thank you!” Cabahug said. “I know you’re a good man and I will also treasure our friendship. We’re here for you. God bless Pao!”
Contis, in turn, said, “Thank you for everything!”
Contis also took a moment to thank Lian for her kindness and understanding, calling her someone who is “always been kind and forgiving.”
“@liankatrina , you have always been kind and forgiving. This is why hindi kayo pinabayaan ni Lord. I appreciate all your efforts in talking to John about that day. Thank you for being strong and for how you nurtured the kids to have beautiful hearts,” the actor said.
Contis’ reunion with his daughters came about 13 years after his and Paz’s controversial separation in 2013. The former married couple had been estranged, with Paz revealing in 2018 that the actor had not been providing for their daughters.
In a 2023 interview with Boy Abunda, Contis admitted that he had not seen his daughters with Lian for six years and had not been providing financial support, though he shared that he had been saving for them and hoped to give them his savings one day.
