ROXAS City – The municipal government of Mambusao, Capiz led by Mayor Leodegario Labao Jr. will present its Salintubig project to other local government units (LGUs) in Cebu City next week.
A forum on Nov. 27 to 28 that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) organized will gather LGUs across Visayas to discuss and share with each other their best strategies in improving local governance.
The P17-million water system under the Salintubig project has been providing potable water to waterless Mambusao villages since 2013, Labao aid.
Eighty percent of the town’s population benefits from the water project, he added.
“The Salintubig project had addressed the lack of water supply brought by the poor service that our local water district provides,” Labao said.
The Sangguniang Bayan will draft an ordinance that will regulate the water pricing under the Salintubig project in the town, Labao added.
The goal is to make the project’s water rate lower than that of the local water district, he explained.
Labao said the collection will be used for the maintenance and operation costs of the project.
