BACOLOD City – Three children died after fire destroyed their house in Barangay Felisa, a Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) report showed.
They were Agerico Diloy Sr.’s children – the 4-year-old Arthur, 3-year-old Agerico Jr. and 2-year-old Mary Auxencia – the BFP report further stated.
Fire started gutting the house around 5 p.m. on Nov. 23 when Agerico Sr. was on duty as a village watchman.
The children were not able to go out of the house because door was locked, BFP officer Rodolfo Denaga told Panay News.
Investigation revealed that an overheated television set caused the blaze.
Diloy’s house was made of light materials.
Village chief Ramon Jardin said the mother of the children – who works in Dubai – will be coming home.
The remains of the children were buried yesterday at the public cemetery in Barangay Handumanan.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the city government will give the family financial aid./PN
