‘Man cut my tree, slapped my back!’

ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Ortiz, City Proper accused a man from Barangay Burgos-Mabini, La Paz of cutting his tree and hurting him, a police report showed.

The 30-year-old Herbert Garcera Jr. identified his alleged attacker as Roque Horlador.

Garcera went to his lot in Barangay Burgos-Mabini, La Paz at around 5:30 p.m. on May 29 and was surprised to see his moringa (malunggay) tree toppled, he told La Paz police station.

He confronted Horlador, who was in the area. The latter admitted to cutting the tree.

But Horlador then hollered at Garcera, “Yudiputa ka! Indi man na inyo duta! Wala man kamo pakita titulo,” while repeatedly slapping his back, the complainant said.

Horlador’s son also attempted to harass him, Garcera claimed.

The Horladors cannot be reached for comment as of this writing. (March Gernine Aguacito, Intern/PN)
