BACOLOD City – An estimated P1,359 worth of grocery items were recovered from a man in Barangay Singcang-Airport, a police report showed.
The 31-year-old Rey Boy Canicola of Silay City, Negros Occidental allegedly stole the items from a convenience store at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in the village on Tuesday.
Police arrested Canicola after recovering from him the items – three cans of spam, two cans of corned beef and two bottles of insecticide spray.
Aside from a theft charge, Canicola also faces charges for violating City Ordinance 358 which prohibits possession of bladed weapon the city, police said.
An improvised bladed weapon was also recovered from him, the police added.
Canicola was detained./PN
