BACOLOD City – In Barangay Minapasuk, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, a resident had been shot at a cockpit.
The 38-year-old Warlito Mahusay sustained a gunshot wound on the body.
He was taken to the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. District Hospital in Sagay City.
Police identified the shooter as 30-year-old Larne Pepito of the same village.
Mahusay and Pepito were attending a cockfight in Minapasuk on Dec. 16 when the latter went berserk, police investigation showed. It was not immediately clear why.
While he was being pacified, Pepito fired at Mahusay using .38 revolver, police said.
Pepito fled after the incident. Officers were still searching for him./PN
