BACOLOD City – The information campaigns may have not been enough.
Some locals remained clueless of the city government’s “no segregation, no collection” waste management policy, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said.
There may have been a problem during the information campaigns, said Familiaran, head of the Solid Waste Action Team. He said he will call team personnel to a meeting today.
“We conducted information-education campaigns but only barangay officials attended,” said Familiaran.
As “front-liners,” barangay officials were the ones who must further disseminate information about the policy, he explained.
One of those unaware of the policy was a restaurant owner, who complained about it to Familiaran via text message, the vice mayor said.
Familiaran will tap the city’s Public Information Office to come up with a better information campaign./PN
