BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. hopes for more development in the province next year.
He said this can only be achieved if there is peace and order throughout Negros Occidental.
Marañon added that there are many investors who are interested to put up their businesses in the province.
The governor said this “bright future” will not happen if there are recurrent problems in the peace and other situation of the province.
“There can be no development if there is no peace,” Marañon stressed.
On the other hand, Marañon is encouraging farmers to “diversify.”
He said farmers must not only depend on the production of sugarcane. They must also invest in planting other kinds of agricultural crops, like corn, ube, jackfruit, and cacao, among others.
