ROXAS City – A Bantay Dagat member and former bodyguard of Pilar, Capiz mayor Gideon “Ike” Patricio was arrested for allegedly selling drugs.
The 44-year-old Rey “Ring-ring” Casipit, a “high-value” drug suspect, was caught in Barangay Takas, Pontevedra.
Police recovered from him five sachets of suspected shabu.
“Ring-ring” has recently received his terminal pay from the municipal government of Pilar, it was learned. Police said he is known for his alleged connections in the underworld and with local politicians.
Operatives from the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG) teams Bravo and Charlie and the Municipal AIDSOTG of Pontevedra staged the operation against Casipit around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 23.
The suspect was taken to the Pontevedra police station.
He was allegedly operating in Pontevedra, President Roxas and Pilar.
Senior Inspector Alcer Moncera, PAIDSOTG Team Bravo leader, said he has been trying to entrap Casipit even when he was still the Pilar police chief.
