BACOLOD City – An unregistered firearm and suspected drugs were confiscated from a meat vendor in Barangay 6, Isabela, Negros Occidental.
The 41-year-old Jaron “Aron” Espares ended up in the lockup cell of the Isabela municipal police station.
Recovered from his possession were a .38-caliber revolver, five cartridges of the gun, a hand grenade, two sachets of suspected shabu, and a sachet containing suspected marijuana, police said.
Officers from the municipal police station led by Chief Inspector Lowell Garinganao were serving Espares with a search warrant around 9:50 p.m. on Monday when they seized the weapons and the suspected drugs from his house.
Judge Cyclamen Jison of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental issued the warrant against Espares in relation to his violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
