ILOILO City – A bruised face and a punctured buttock were what a resident of Barangay West Habog-habog, Molo sustained after an attack in Barangay Boulevard in the district, a police report showed.

His suspected attacker was known to him only as “Pepe,” the 18-year-old Guimilo Libo-on told the police.

During investigation, police were able to identify the suspected attacker as Christopher Hillega, also 18 years old, of Barangay Boulevard.

Libo-on said he was at a store with his friend Carlo Cuenca at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday when “Pepe” punched him on the face and yelled at him, “Maano ka (What are you going to do)?!”

Then Pepe struck him with a pointed steel rod on the left buttock and fled, leaving the weapon behind, Libo-on claimed.

Libo-on said he was clueless of Hillega’s motives. Hillega cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.

Libo-on handed the foot-long steel rod to Barangay Tanod Warren Nodado, who turned it over to the police.

Iloilo City Emergency Responders team personnel treated the bruise on the face and the punctured wound on the buttock of Libo-on. Police referred the dispute to the barangay lupon./PN
