Molo ‘pusher’ falls; daughter jailed, too

ILOILO City – A suspected drug pusher was arrested in a sting operation in Barangay San Juan, Molo district.

Officers of the Molo police station nabbed Elizer Cias, a resident of the village, around 8 p.m. on June 10.

Cias – a surrenderee under the Philippine National Police’s “Oplan Tokhang” – was caught after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,200, a police report showed.

When frisked, he yielded four more sachets of the suspected drugs, police said.

Cias denied selling shabu. He said the items recovered from him were “planted.”

Cias was detained in the lockup cell of the Molo police station.

He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

His daughter was also detained in the Molo police station. Police arrested Joylyn Saraza for obstruction of justice after she tried to intervene with Cias’ arrest./PN
