ANTIQUE – A motorcycle crashed into a parked tricycle in Barangay Pis-anan, Sibalom, Antique, leaving two individuals injured.
Driver Daven Sarte, a resident of Barangay Igparas, Sibalom, was taken to Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital for injuries to his head and feet. And backrider Jupiter Vicente of Barangay Igparas, Sibalom was brought to Ramon Maza Sr. Memorial District Hospital.
According to the Sibalom Municipal Police Station, Sarte and Vicente were allegedly inebriated, causing them to lose balance leading to the incident on Friday night, Feb. 23.
Hours prior, around 4 p.m., they were issued a citation ticket by the Sibalom police for speeding and riding without helmets. The two were able to pay the fines.
Because of this, the Sibalom MPS strengthened its checkpoints to prevent similar incidents in the town./PN
