BACOLOD City – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Estimated to be around 55 to 60 years old, the victim was reportedly mentally ill.

Police Captain Rondyl Tapang, chief of Bacolod City Police Station 3, said the unidentified woman was crossing the road when she was allegedly hit by a white mini dump truck traveling north early Saturday morning, Feb. 24. She died on the spot.

Tapang added that the victim is often seen in the area.

Currently, the police are hunting the mini dump truck, with the only lead being the unclear footage from a closed-circuit television camera due to the darkness of the location.

Here, Tapang appealed for the driver to surrender. He also urged anyone with information about the victim to come forward to the authorities./PN
