BACOLOD City – The construction of the first building of Tinongan National High School in Isabela, Negros Occidental will start next year.
Randy Melosantos, 2nd District engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), said they will conduct the bidding this year, during the groundbreaking of the new school site yesterday.
The two-storey building will stand on the 9,973-square-meter land donated by the Montilla family.
The school will be called Patrick Arroyo Montilla Jr. National High School as stated in the Deed of Donation, which was signed between the DepEd and Councilor Patrick Montilla Jr. on June 29.
The building will be worth P8 million, taken from the P38 million allocated by the Department of Education (DepEd).
“With the implementation of the K-12 program, the town needs additional classrooms to accommodate the growing number of students,” said Montilla.
Rep. Robert Barbers (Surigao del Norte, 2nd District) led the groundbreaking./PN
