ROXAS City – Environmental protection and humanitarian services were the highlight in this year’s National Food Authority (NFA) anniversary in Capiz.
Planting of fruit-bearing seedlings was conducted in the NFA compound in Barangay Mangoso, Sigma, Capiz.
NFA employees, farmers and grain retailers participated in the activity last week.
NFA information officer Mary Christie Harion said the activity aims to provide food sufficiency and protection of the environment.
The week-long celebration also included a feeding program and distribution of school supplies to about 800 pupils from the Antonio Villasis Memorial School in Barangay Lanot in this city and the Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Dumalag town.
A seminar-workshop on cacao-planitng was also conducted among 38 farmers. (PIA/PN)
