ILOILO City – President Rodrigo Duterte promised that 20 kilos of rice will be given to each Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary.
But the additional aid will not be given this year yet, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The DSWD central office was still assessing whether to give out rice or just cash, said Beverly Salazar, focal person for 4Ps.
“Kon bugas (ang ipanghatag) kinahanglan ang dako nga logistics,” Salazar said during the agency’s yearend conference in Boracay.
The Social Welfare department was also reviewing the number of members of each household beneficiary, she said.
The conditional cash transfer will not be expanded or institutionalized but the beneficiaries will be given rice as additional aid, the Duterte administration said. (With Joel Franco, Panay Balita/PN)
