ROXAS City – A total of 324 individuals from across Capiz participated in a bloodletting activity in this capital city.
The activity – held at City Mall-Roxas – yielded 99 bags of Type A blood, 61 bags of Type B blood, 63 bags of Type AB blood, and 164 bags of Type O blood.
Among those who joined the blood donation was the 43-year-old Cayetano Javil, a person with disability from Barangay Bitoon, Cuartero, Capiz.
“I am happy to have donated blood because I am sure that I could help those who are in need,” said Javil, a hit-and-run victim.
Sangguniang Panlalawigan secretary Zoe Herrera also participated in the activity.
Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, also sent 25 police personnel to donate blood.
Members of the Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Army also joined the bloodletting.
“We would like to thank the blood donors. There is a very high blood requirement in December this year and January next year,” said Red Cross-Capiz Chapter administrator Raymundo Martinez.
The blood donation, dubbed as Dugong Bombo 2017, is a yearly blood donation project of Bombo Radyo Philippines./PN
