Over P1-million ‘shabu’ seized in La Paz drug sting

ILOILO City — Authorities collared a high-value suspect during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Ticud, La Paz district.

The 49-year-old alias “Erp,” single and resident of Lapuz district, was caught with approximately 160 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, valued at around P1,088,000 on Wednesday, January 28.

The operation was carried out at 1:22 a.m. by operatives of the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, in collaboration with the Police Drug Enforcement Group’s Special Operations Unit 6 and the Regional Intelligence Division 6.

Extensive intelligence and community tips led to the successful operation against the suspect involved in local drug trafficking, police said.

The suspect was detained. He will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
