Over P800K worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod drug bust

BACOLOD City – About P884,000 worth of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 130 grams, was confiscated by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in a buy-bust operation.

The operation led to the arrest of two female suspects identified only as alias “Tata,” 24, classified as a high-value individual, and alias “Wilma,” 22, both residents of Barangay 10 this city.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said the operation was part of its intensified campaign against illegal drugs. The buy-bust was conducted by the CDEU at Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10, on November 9.

Authorities said the operation was launched following information from a confidential informant (CI) that Tata was actively involved in the sale of illegal drugs in her area.

Acting on the tip, the CDEU coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and conducted surveillance before arranging a drug transaction with the suspect through a poseur-buyer.

The successful sting operation resulted in the seizure of several heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are now detained at Police Station 2 and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
