CEBU City – For their notable antidrug operations, different police units in Cebu province received P1.6 million in cash incentives from the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (PADAO).

Among them were 10 local police stations and the Provincial Intelligence Branch.

The cash incentives were distributed Wednesday morning at the office of Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.

Police stations in Pinamungajan, Naga, San Remegio, Aloguinsan, Argao, Carcar, Asturias, Danao, Balamban, and Cordova received them.

Each officer who took part in the antidrug operations of their respective stations got P3,000, while each station chief got P5,000.

CPADAO director Ivy Durano-Meca said the cash incentives aim to encourage police stations to do more in their fight against illegal drugs.

It was the last set of cash incentives the office distributed this year. According to Meca, the amount brought to some P10 million the total cash incentives the PADAO had given out in 2016.

More cash incentives will be distributed next year, Meca said. (PNA)
